I am considering joining a ski club this year, but I'm not familiar with what is out there, and would like to make an educated decision.

What are some of the clubs that people here use, and their associated benefits?

no requirement on relationship status, you don't even have to go to a meeting if you don't want.

I was a member last year along with several other folks here. You're a little late to the party as most ticket sales occur in June. It was basically $20 to join and the benefits were roughly 50% off the walk up rate at Vermont areas and around 30% for NH areas. You have to buy all your tickets in advance of the season. Some places like Stowe had ski club appreciation weekends where you got club ticket rates equivalent to what the summer sale was.

It's a great way to save money, especially if you like to ski a multiple different areas. It was hard not to sign up this year as it worked so well, but I decided to get a pass to Ragged instead.

Really? I'm not looking for the eharmony ski club.

ROLFLMAO

There are a couple threads where ski clubs have been discussed extensively. Too lazy to search for them at the moment.

Sounds like ACE is good

Any of the Connecticut Ski Council clubs also seem pretty good.

there are about 30 ski clubs, most have houses in Vermont and discount tickets & trips are offered.

marital status does not matter, usually just have to be 21 years of age.

Garden State in Maywood has about 400 members and owns a house near Killington. $40 a year.

We joined ACE last year and will renew again this year ($20 for me, $15 for husband). Ticket purchases are made upfront and are limited to 2 each member (so 4 for us) to the bigger mountains in VT. Price example, Killington and Mount Snow tickets were $48, Magic $20, Smuggler's $20. I don't have NH examples as we didn't participate in that part.

As someone mentioned earlier, the main ticket sale has already taken place, however they do another sale late summer/early fall of any remaining tickets. Billski is definitely the one to talk to - or do a search for ski club threads, early spring last year there was quite a bit of talk about the ACE club that Billski offered quite a bit of info.

I have also heard the CT Ski Council clubs are also decent.

I'm a member of Craigmeur Ski Club. Based in Morris County, family oriented and they have a lodge near Rutland. Also in your area is High Life. Both Craigmeur and HighLife meet at the Exchange in Rockaway. I think High Life also has a lodge in VT. There is also Morris County Ski Club. They seem to do more bus trips; don't think they have a lodge. All of them will have links off of the NJ Ski Council website that someone referenced. NJSC offers discounted lift tickets (mainly VT) that most clubs sell to members.

In addition to Craigmeur, I'm a member of Ace. That is mostly for ticket discounts.

I've also been a member of Central Mass Ski Group. They have good ticket discounts each weekend to a specific area and there are fantastic multi-day weekend trips to places like Sunday River and Stowe. Most of these do not require that you travel with the group...you get the discounts but not the disadvantage of sitting next to an a$$ on a bus ride.

I'm also a member of ACE. http://www.aceskiandboardclub.org Have you guys already bought your tickets? As far as I know their ticket sale has not happened yet this year due to problems setting stuff up with the ski areas. Or maybe I dropped the ball?!

Are you looking for something with a lodge, or just discounted tickets and mailing lists?
