Apologies if this has been covered previously. I know there are a bunch of clubs with lodging in New Hampshire. I've tried to search for similar clubs in VT with no success. Surely they must exist but I don't seem able to find any info? Any help would be much appreciated!

There are a couple of ski clubs on Route 100 in Granville, just south of Sugarbush. They are both NJ based I believe. One is called the Short Hills ski club. Not sure of the others.

Actually, there are a ton of ski clubs or houses in Vermont.

You might want to be more specific as to which mountain(s) you want to be around.

As Noski pointed out, SkiMRV.com had a similar thread for arond Sugarbush and Mad River.

But that might not be convenient for you if you wanted to ski Stratton or Jay.

And yes, ski houses are measured by the ton! :smash:

Thanks for the helpful suggestions. The Onondaga Ski Club mentioned in the SkiMRV.com thread has potential. Would be interested in a club with a lodge where we could go for weekend ski trips without breaking the bank evertime. I'd found a bunch in New Hampshire (mostly around N. Conway) that seem interesting. You spend $300-$400 / year and do a couple of work weekends and have access to inexpensive lodging. And with the right mix of people it could be very fun. We'd prefer something in central/Northern VT where we could ski places like Sugarbush, MRV, and Stowe. Tirolerpeter's link pointed me to a ski club in Newport, which I didn't know existed. I got real excited till I found out their lodge is at Okemo.

The Connecticut Ski Council has a list of clubs. Many of them own houses. I used to belong to River Hills which has a giant house with a jillion little bedrooms and 2 big single sex bunk rooms a few miles up Rt 100 from Killington. I've driven by the Sikorsky club building in Ludlow a bunch of times.

Poke around the various club web sites.

The Connecticut Ski Council clubs are also a great source for discounted tickets. The Aetna club is the cheapest to join (no house). You pre-buy in early October and they're usually use-it or lose-it. Last time I looked, you could get tix for Sugarbush, KMart, Okemo, and I think a few of the Southern VT areas like maybe Stratton & Mt Snow.

The Newport Ski Club is also at Okemo and is affiliated with the Connecticut Ski Council.

Onendaga and Short Hills are solid locations given what you're looking for. Quick access to I-89, so it's mostly highway driving. All non-highway driving is at low elevations in storms (Rt. 12>103>100) or you always have short cut options in dry weather. They are 20 mins to SB, 25 to MRG, 1:10 to Stowe, and 30 mins to K-Mart if that's your bag.

The Hartford Ski Club (a member of the CT Ski Council) owns a house at MRG. I wanted to join this club, in part, so I could have access to this house. Plus I work near Hartford so I thought I could attend club meetings, etc. Nevertheless, I was told I had to live in the greater Hartford area in order to become a member. I live in Western Mass. so I'm out of luck there. I've joined another member club of the CT Ski Council so I get the benefits of the discounted tickets but don't have access to the MRG house.

I tell you this only so you're aware that some ski clubs (maybe not a lot but some) do have local residency requirements.
