just like the other one, are these intentional? Like a skiing version of the "knock out" game that's been all over the news lately.

Well, I would note that the snowboarder is headed directly down the fall line, while the skier is headed at an angle. While it is not her fault, he does not see her on on his blind backside edge until it is too late. While it is not her fault, I would caution people agains making slower speed GS turns in high traffic runout areas, you are just asking to be hit from behind like this woman.

The way you are harping on this makes me think maybe you hit someone in this manner?

Likewise, I would discourage people from going straight down the fall line at high rates of speed in high traffic run out areas. I think ability played more into this one than blind spot. You can tell by the shadows of him riding prior to the collision that he's not very good. Lots of skidded turns with little control over the board. The kid even said he's still learning.

Agreed, I think he got going too fast to be able to actually make a turn onto his toe side the way he wanted/needed to and he plowed into that woman. Rewatching that impact, it is amazing he didn't break her leg. And it was totally his fault. The woman was not making "slower speed GS turns". She was just SKIING which making turns is part of. Are skiers supposed to straightline "high traffic runout areas"?

Nope, but I have had friends get hit in this manner. In most runnouts you are usually just best off pointing it straight.

Fair warning, if you insist on turning in a high speed runnout area, you will get hit from behind eventually. It won't be by me though.

Asleep on their skis? Looks intentional, never flinched, direct hit, target, um other skier was moving slowly and predictably, though directly across the flow. Kinda freaky to watch pov.

This one is perfect:

That one with the jump is brutal.

Can't really say who is to blame - probably the boarder a little more than the skier for crossing in front of a jump. But if it's a real blind landing, then maybe the mountain is to blame on that one….

With out all the evidence hard to say.
I think we are missing what happened before the skier knocked down the snow boarder. On a crowded trail like that why would you be doing jumps and spinning around?

didn't get to the end of the video, but what I want to know is, why is that guy getting undressed on the trail?
