Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown

Conditions: machine groomed

Trip Report: Second day out for me this season. Vast improvement over saturday. They blew a ton of snow and coverage was much better. Was warm- 38-40ish, so soft, but not slushy, snow conditions- real hero snow, great to let em rip, which was what we did in the absence of bumps. Gotta hand it to Mtn. ops- they have done a lot with a little this year.

Everything was as good as could be expected. Noreaster skied a little funky, with some rollers that were ill placed, at least for me. Was breaking in the new Motives, and I couldn't seem to get edge to edge quick enough to avoid being thrown into the back seat on noreaster on each run at a couple of spots. I was usually going pretty quick, and that may have been part of the issue. Motives took some time--I was back seat a lot (longer ski than I am used to by 10cm) and could not consistently carve on them, but was getting much better toward the end, more centered with em on edge and linking edge to edge- better than the rooster tail skid I had going early on.

Skied 1 1/2 hours with the kids and 2 hours with a buddy. Managed 24 runs, even with the damn RFID gate refusing to read my pass time and time again. Worked fine Sat., yesterday wouldn't read it on a consistent basis. They told me to move it to my parka, I did. Worked about one out of every 5 times. Eventually, they let me just go around. They suggested I get a new pass-- which I will. This time, they had room to go around, which was good planning, as a lot of people were having issues with the read.

Pics or video should be mandatory for all trip reports.

Tons of pics and footage available in the current passholder forum....

I do have some photos (mostly from Sat.) - but they are in Ski Tracks, and I haven't figured out how to post from there to here- or otherwise get them out of there yet.

Big improvement from a snow depth perspective. Temptor and Stinger skied great! Looks like they're gonna take another hit this week though. Hope the weekend storm pans out. If not, I wouldn't be expecting bumps before Christmas (no official word, just a guess)...
