Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown

Conditions: PP at peak, lsgr, soft at lower elevations Temps:30's

Trip Report: Spent the morning at Sundown and it was well worth it. Last night's wet snow was groomed out nicely, and also helped to soften the bumps on Noreaster and Lower Ex. Cloudy with snow showers until about 11:00 AM then sunny. Crowds were light and the hill is in fine shape considering the lousy weather for most of the last week.

Spent most of the day doing laps on Noreaster and Ex. Bumps on NE were surprisingly soft and the lines are starting to get skied in, but still some pretty wide spacing. I was skiing with my neighbor who was on a board, and he was really enjoying the extra wide spacing. Lower Ex bumps are starting to show some wear in the middle section, but still highly enjoyable. Also took a few runs on Gunbarrel, I love the view from the top looking out over the reservoir, At times you could also see the squalls coming in from the northwest - pretty cool.

Sundown was also having its annual Wild West Day celebration with everything from haybales to horserides and a couple of old fashioned gunfights. Good fun, they really do a nice job with their weekly events. I believe next week is a Caribbean theme.

I will definitely be back a few more times this season!

The conditions must have been nice during the day yesterday. They certainly were pretty nice last night, despite the WIND.
