Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown

Conditions: fresh heavy snow

Trip Report:
The snow had been falling outside my window all day and it really put me in the mood for skiing so I headed up to Sundown for a quick session tonight. Seemed like 25 cars in the parking lot when i arrived.

Ran into Greg on as I loaded for my first run. We hit Temptor which was OK. Greg split to get ready for work so i went off on my own.

Skied Gunny, Stinger and Temptor mostly with a single run down Canyon Run to where the EX used to be.

Snow was wet and heavy but i had fun carving or at least attempting to. Downside of the heavy snow was sitting on the chair. Apparently my pants and gloves weren't nearly as waterproof as i'd thought. Froze my butt off sitting chair.

Got in a dozen or so runs before calling it a night. About 50 cars in the lot as i left.

Got about an hour in late this afternoon. Gluey snow. Came out of one little unofficial shot and was greeted by a patroller. :-o He was cool though.

I got out for about an hour before work as well. I got there just when it switched over to a light drizzle, so it wasn't gluey at all, just heavy snow. I had fun; hit Gunny a few times, Temptor 2 or 3, and Nor'Easter once. After my 3rd run I ran into Skidmarks and skied a few runs with him. I showed him a little poach, but took a wrong turn and skied out early by accident.

i noticed a lot of tracks heading into the woods off one trail and was tempted to check it out but it was getting dark and i was skiing solo so i chickened out.
