WRENTHAM -- A Foxboro resident plans a complex that would offer skiing and snowboarding on property off Route 1.

A special new artificial surface would allow for the activities, Town Planner Richard Callinan said.

The developer, Bill Martin, came across such a facility during a trip to England, Callinan said.

Martin also plans a restaurant in the complex.

He has submitted rough plans for the development to the planning board, which has requested more information.

The land north of Thurston Street totals about six acres on the site of a former llama farm.

A zoning change would be needed because the front of the property is zoned for business and the rear is zoned for residential use.

Sounds like the bloody Brit plastic slope skiing. Overpriced but popular when your jonseing for summer turns. Hmmmmm, between Tucks and the plastic slope, we should be able to make turns 12 months a year. Amen.
