I'll make it out one day for sure regardless of weather or potential crowding. where is the question. Probably Mt. Snow due to its proximity but maybe kmart since it seems to be expanding quickly right now.

Thanks JimG :) I do usually ski blacks - they give me nice challenge and help me practice short turns. My father mostly skis greens so sometimes I keep him company :)

my plans to ski any day i am not working will continue to only be effected by conditions and limited terrain that i would not consider even an hour drive to ski on a season pass. i am hoping enough snow making occurs that i'll be getting out a half dozen days before now and the end of the month... but if the terrain is limited, i have other things i could be doing and may only do three or four days.

Conditions will suck AND it will be crowded. Unless you already forked over the money for a season's pass somehere or paid for that condo rental, these are two good reasons to stay away for ski areas.
I'm taking some time off and hope to get in some hiking.

Still strange to think about the Sagamore being open in the winter. I grew up on the lake a couple of miles north of the hotel. The resort is topnotch but in the winter Bolton Landing is not exactly a behive of activity. It's more of a summer area. Kmart is only 45min - 1 hr away, Pico alittle closer, you might consider going there.

Killington is 1.5 - 2 hours from my experience. Driving the speed limit it's about 2 hours to the KBL. I did the trip from Bolton Landing a number of times. I'm stunned to hear anyone doing it in much under 1.5 hours.

Skiing the week following New Years. Hopefully less crowded. Might hit up Wachusett one night next week to get my 10th day in before the end of December.

We'll be at Sunday River 12/23-24, staying at the Snow Cap Inn arriving Friday night, then leaving sometime Sunday to go to the in-laws for Christmas festivities! :)
