Thinking about heading up to Stowe to ski and see The Infamous Stringdusters Jan. 24...

Although , just now, looking at the calendar I think not... Returning from a week in Sandy UT that day.

If anyone wants to see a really good bluegrass band that does some inventive covers I recommend them. Check out their version of Just Like Heaven.

We saw their first gig, I think it was their first, at Telluride Bluegrass Fest last summer. Great players, they could have used a little more rehearsal perhaps. lol. I just love those old Marshall Tucker songs and I can hear a little Toy in my lead guitar playing. "I'm gonna do some chicken pickin"

woah. brothers past are reuniting next weekend, but with russo on drums. that is major. philly. really hoping this tours.

BP was tommy's band (JRAD tommy). they are the best band that never took off. amazing songs and amazing 'techno' jamming. if the disco biscuits could write a killer pop song and actually sing, they would have been BP

Jamming with my jam band, About Half Dead, Wednesday. We'll be playing about all Dead and a lot of Bobby's songs.

The second rock concert I ever went to was teh Grateful Dead at the Capitol in Port Chester in 1970. I was 13 and have been a fan ever since. I saw them about a dozen times, last time in 1989. While I call myself a Deadhead and one of Jerry's kids, I never felt a need to see them live over and over again...at least any more than I did. After Jerry's death I have seen different iterations: Dead and Co, Further, the Dead, Phil Lesh and Friends, Bob Weir and the Wolf Pack, Rat Dog about another dozen or so times altogether. Most were good, None ever made it to Grateful Dead heights though.

II wonder if Mayer, Chimenti, Oteil, Micky will try to keep Dead and Co going and who they would replace Bobby with? The phake Bobby from DSO?

Right where I want to be
Working from home today with a Bobby Spotify playlist playing.
Only saw the full dead once in 92. Saw Ratdog 6 or 7 times in the mid 00's. Then saw Furthur and The Dead a few times in the 10's. Dead and co 12 times the last being in Vegas on their final weekend at the Sphere May 15th, 2025. I will miss the live shows but with Spotify and the Internet Archive I can listen to just about any show I want.
Fare you well Bobby. I will always cherish the times.

i've heard very strong rujmors of a mayer, chimenti, oteil project. no mickey. maybe jay lane.

i'd see that band, but it would be very weird if they end up doing big 'dead' stadium shows.

for some reason, msg sits better with me than citifield, for the largest venues for that project.

I never liked the stadium shows. I went to their first Citi Field gig but tix were way expensive when they came out...like $250 for the cheap seats up high. Waited until a week before the show and scored first tier tix along 3rd baseline for $60 each. After that saw them in arenas, Lockin and Vegas.

I'd see something like that as well, but similar to JRAD or DSO, theaters/small arenas would be sufficient. I'm not going to a stadium show for a cover band...
