The only bad part was eating the stuff in the back of the cabinets.
I am a blizzard baby, Feb. 7th, 1978. My birthdays growing up were always postponed due to snow.
sounds like typical day-in-the-life north country living - it's snow, so deal with it (and so equipped) versus the flatlander panic and volume syndrome. I will keep this in mind next time..... :smile:I was 18 and had a car...Once the snow finally stopped, my brother and I were able to dig out and took off out of Boston and were able to get to the highway, which was wide open and plowed. No checkpoints or anything...We made it up to North Conway, and had three amazing days at Cranmore and Wildcat. Nobody else was there except for a few locals. It was as though we owned the mountains. Everyone else stayed home. I never met anyone else in greater Boston who was able to get away that week, since all the news reports were saying that the highways were closed. We just drove up like we owned it...and it turned out we pretty much did.
Anyone ski during or immediately after the Blizzard of 78? I was stranded on a farm.... I suspect the high winds made lift-assist impossible, perhaps even damaged lifts?
Would like to hear a story or three...
