What are your goals for the upcoming year? Here are mine.

1. Ski Mad River Glen more often. I'm ashamed that I only hit MRG three times last year. I got in the habit of just skiing SB that I got lazy once we had all that great snow. It's only 12 minutes away. There's no excuse.

2. Ski Utah. I've got a trip planned for December 10-17, but I don't actually have my tickets yet. I'm planning to go to Brighton and Snowbird, conditions permitting.

3. Make a day trip to a new VT mountain. I haven't yet skied Stowe, Snow Bowl, Killington, or Okemo, and all are within range.

1. Get back to the skill level I was at in the 2003 season.
2. At least 2 Trips out west
3. Learn to drive a groomer.
4. 100 days

With my work schedule looking like it does I doubt I will get the 100 days in but the rest I think is possible.

- As many(if not more days than last season) - I need 36 for that
- No injuries(or atleast nothing that a couple of motrin won't take care of)
- Enjoy watching my soon to be 2 year old get his 1st days on skis and my soon to be 4 year old continue to advance her skiing ability!

Ski more, Ski new places, Ski better.

Ski more with Loafer...and Dozer.

Loafer, I'm hoping to hit similar goals this season...anticipating two things, that my daughter continues to do well in her new school (which will allow me early departures) and 2) that the work schedule, despite being nuts...will allow for the regularly scheduled day trip (boss supports my addiction).

So in addition to Loafer's goals...

1) Hit Gold in NASTAR (need to drop 2 full seconds)

2) Attend an AZ outing!!!

3) Back to Wildcat

4) Back to Cannon

5) Here's the tough one...get my sons up to the Lake House for a weekend trip (Winnepesaukee), prolly for a douple tap @ the Cat (second day for 1/2 price).

I have more, but...I'm trying to be (aside from the Gold NASTAR) realistic.

Our main goal is to get to New England for a week. Hopefully throw in a new place or two ( Pico, Smuggs). 3 days at the Bush, one each at Pico, Stowe and Smuggs would be an ideal trip.

1. teach my two year old to ski.

I'm definitely looking forward to getting our 2 (will then be 2.5) year old on skis this winter. Last fall, we brought her to the Sundown Ski Swap and she picked out a pair of skis. She hugged them like they were a teddy bear - it was heart breaking to make her put them back.

Other than that, I'd just like to ski, period. Last winter I didn't because I was pregnant. The winter before I think I only went twice (had to find someone to care for a 6 month old). And the winter prior to that, I was pregnant. It will be harder finding child care with a 7 month old AND 2.5 year old, but I NEED to get out there. I haven't had any "me" time in ages.

In my mind, northern New England
Ski powder days
Visit areas I've never been to before -- Stowe, Magic, Saddleback
Return to Cannon, MRG and Wildcat
Ski Utah
Spend more time in Maine
Hike for turns -- Tuckerman in March
Get better at skiing especially in powder, bumps and trees
End the season in May
Ski with more AZers

Edit: Forgot to add-- spend a night or two at KingM's inn during my annual pilgrimage to the MRV. Good breakfasts!

I know all about that, my daughter last year was obsessed with the Dora The Explorer skis they had in the shop at Mount Snow that she never got. This season, she's really hoping that she can get some pink poles :)

I just put in a call to DCF. ;)

My goals for this year:
  • Get out with my daughter a dozen times or more
  • Get her skiing independently from the summit by the end of the season
  • Ski 30+ days
  • Work on technique
  • Ski Whiteface
  • Get to a bunch of AZ gatherings
  • Ski Magic twice
  • Ski BEast at least once (snow dependent)
  • Hit MRG a few times
  • Get out with the wife a few times
