OK, so I'm going up to Burlington this weekend and I plan to go skiing at least Friday.
My preference would be to go to the Bush or Stowe. Does anyone know how much snow is left at either of these 2 and if there would be enough to go on Friday? If not I'll probably have to head down to KMart.

It was about 60 yesterday in many parts of N VT. Today is forecast to be about 55-60. Tomorrow in the 40's. So not looking so good :-?

Unless you run into someone who can almost give you a report in "real time" you can never tell until you hike up. So much has to do with exposure to sun and wind. G'luck.

Yeah, but if there isn't a whole lot of snow now then there certainly won't be enough on Friday.
For those of you who went to Kmart this weekend, was the base deep enough to make it worthwhile to make some turns this weekend?

Wow, that's unreal....Unreal.

Better anyway. Have to head to Stowe for the ol' anniversary weekend with the wife. Snow there may have caused an issue as I would have been skiing, despite her protests....saved myself controversy this way.

in addition to the nat, they did blow snow last week. depends on the weather but the upper mountain trails meaning rime should hold up since there is a man made base, so it could be worth a hike. lower forget about it.

Yes, sorry to rain on the parade. :( It hit 68 today in South Royalton, VT, which is a hill town in the White River Valley close to Killington and Sugarbush.

Nice temps, but I'm thinking skiing. :)

I'd urge you to maybe think of some lower elevation hiking...mud and ice/snow may be a problem in the mtns. Also it is hunting season. I know a lot about the Burlington area, so maybe a PM to me might be good for advice

i think what you meant to say was, not currently at the base. higher elevations of the mountains still retained decent snow on sunday. but it will be going quick this week and a prediction for friday or saturday is going to be hard to make, especially accurately. give it a rip though and let us know. i may try for either cannon or jay on saturday, i wouldn't expect more than 400-500 vertical feet of crappy thin cover snow from the summit at best, maybe less given the temps today.

My game plan for the weekend is to go to Stowe and if there is no snow then I will be hiking the LT up to Elephants Head from the Notch. But the skis are packed in the car and ready to go just in case.
