Right where I want to be
Seems rather awkward and a little dangerous. I am not that conceited that I need to film me skiing. Also it would throw me off not being able to pole plant.

I think a full video if it is kinda gapersih, but I think it can provide some varying camera angles to give some variety to video. I wouldn't do a full video like that obviously.

Jeesh guys

my friend had one when he was out here last week. i think its kind of cool, adds a different element esp for POV video. Also he got some good footage of me being able to direct it on me verus turning your head or chest and not knowing where you are going! :dontknow:

Maybe if you are lucky you can see the expression on my face right before I nail a tree

I have an old ski-pole that I may turn into one... although i'd need a gopro or some camera that took video then.....

I think snowboard runs look better from this perspective.... the helmet cam and chest cam don't do the run justice...

Skiing with a gopro on a pole mount...makes you look completely foolish unless you are 14 years old and filming your friend in the terrain park

I kinda like the shots. Not totally but as added variety. Like when mt. biking they show front shots, back shots next to the wheel, etc.

I feel like I'm getting bored of the same perspective.

I have yet to see very many clips from helmets or poles that hold any interest. The helmet cam is mostly scenery going by. A pole is just scenery going by with your face plastered in it.

I think quality footage is taken by someone else with a steady hand and good zoom control. Maybe mix in a little helmet cam footage of you skiing in front of someone else's POV. Self POV footage was over on the first day, IMHO.

The only footage that looks even slightly interesting to me is when two really ripping skiers follow each other really close.

Someone bought me one a couple years ago as a gift but honestly if the skiing is good enough to record, then I'm not messing around with a camera. I've used it a couple times but plan on selling it.

gopro on a pole seems like skiings equivalent to masterbation.

In the end I could care less if someone wants to film their experience, it has no effect on me and if thats what floats your boat then cool, have at it.

I guess.... the video in the OP I enjoyed. I feel like it captures the feeling of powder blowing in your face ... (twss)

I'm hoping for a serious powder day to capture the same thing one of these days... Here's one from when I was over in Austria...

i have one. i am experimenting with it right now. constant shots of myself is boring. true. the best angle i like is when i hold it behind my helmet with my right hand (i ride regular) or flip it up to take my kids coming down. i will try to post some vids later when i get around to it. i have never done it and will have to clip some vids.
