I've never used skins so I have a question.

When you attach the skin, do you apply some sort of adhesive to the base of your ski? Is there any adhesive residual left behind after you peel the skin off?

The adhesive is on the skins. It does not transfer to the skis.

Does it adhere to the base or just grip to the base (a-la rubber)?

I would compare it to putting screen protectors on a cell phone. There should not be any residual at all otherwise you got crap. Like a screen protector though you can only apply it so many times before it's starts to lose its grip.

I had some skins go bad when the glue got contaminated. The glue started coming off on the bottoms of my skis. Very hard to get off. Shouldn't this thread be in a different sub-forum?
