I have hiked cannon many times and taken the tram down in the summer. Great hike but your knees dont take the normal abuse.

Hey jonni you have an extra 'l' in the skilifts link in your signature.

Take that back....road the Vortex Double at Pats Peak in the Fall of 2004 during their Octoberfest. Downloading was interesting.

We camp for two weeks in the Whites every year near Cannon and we usually go up the Tram on one of our day trips. Sometimes it's a nice way to cool off. Plus it has an awesome view of Franconia Ridge!

I didn't vote since I don't ever use them when hiking, it would be cheating. Maybe some day when I'm too old & brittle to walk up on my own.

On the other hand, we did ride the one in Gatlinburg last summer. My Daughter got to ice skate for the first time in a riink in that hockey hot bed of Tennessee.

When I finished my 2nd go around of the NH 48, I had my family ride the Cannon tram up & down while I hiked up & down.

Every now and then I'll take a chair/gondy down after hiking to the top. I've done that at Stowe and Wildcat that I can remember. Free rides and they were a nice change of pace. (Wildcat was after a 6-week hike.)
