Sled Skiing

So I've heard about this being very popular out West and in British Columbia, I've seen it called the "poor man's helicopter" but does it happen anywhere on the east coast??

Where does it happen?? Are there any outfits that offer it or do you have to just buy a sled grab your topos and hunt??

I have no idea if there's an "outfit" that has such a thing----where I live (cny) we've been doing it for a long time---just find a buddy with a sled who's bored and head off into the woods.

Ilove getting my friends to take me to fields with the sleds and a water ski line. Going up hill at 70 is real fun!

Have not done any true back country sled skiing, but there is a nice part of the field that we ski down.
