Has anyone got any insight on how the woods at Smuggs are skiing right now? On mtn glades still in good shape? Back/birthday bowls and/or bullwheel chutes still open and accessible? I am considering making a run to Smuggs on Saturday, 4/4 and have a voucher to use--extra incentive. Obviously weather can and probably will change by then.

This year I had my first Smuggs day ever; somehow I never made it there over the years. I bought a Shaw's voucher back in January but when I arrived to the mountain, before exchanging my voucher a guy handed me what remained of his 7-day pass because he was leaving the resort, so I skied for free. That day was Jan 30, and for anyone who was there that day it was an all-time caliber day on the snow. Met a guy at lunch who showed my friends and I the bullwheel runs, the birthday bowls, and some stashy spots on mountain. We got dumped on, about 8" that day. Finished the day with a next-to-last chair up Sterling and a birthday bowl run back to the car.

I want to relive these experiences again, fully aware that I won't have that same powder

Was there March 21 and there was powder and great coverage in the woods. I think at this point you will either want a fresh dump or warmth.

I was there on Sunday. Obviously it's not powder skiing, but there's still good coverage in the woods. Even Bermuda was skiing well, and that's the lowest glade on the mountain. It's all about sun angle and temps though this time of year, some glades like Poacher's Woods were icy and not much fun. There should be at least a few inches on Saturday though, so I imagine Sunday should be good.

If the rumors are true I'm hearing 3"-5" overnight and 5"-7" tomorrow (Sat)? Could it be a throwback to mid winter?
