burke was really good this past friday. much better than cannon was on saturday. burke is getting the same squalls and has better base than cannon. i expect both will ski equally good this week now that cannon is starting to catch up with the fresh snow after friday's bust.

cannon today was incredible. these squalls are really starting to add up. I hope the trams open tomorrow. Anyone been to burke? how's it over there?

I think you can forget about the tram being open tomorrow. It's supposed to be pretty windy.

yeah i don't know. i've heard the tram ops say they can take a pretty strong wind, especially if it's steady and blowing on the back of the upper bay(w/nw i think). I've seen them run it on very windy days. Cannon is a true gem on a day like tomorrow because everyone's afraid of the cold and wind, but the tram makes a real comfy ride to the summit, especially when theres only 4-5 people! most times i ski there it's either wicked cold or raining.

Yes, went up again today to the Bush and was even better than yesterday. And stunning just how few people were on the mountain considering the conditions. Had entire runs to ourselves late in the day. Skied Organ Grinder, Castlerock, Birch Run, Sunrise, and others. You could ski right through moguls if you wanted, there was so much powder, or head into the woods and quickly find yourself knee-deep.

I got out into the woods today (pics will be here in a few minutes), and...dang! The snow was quite nice this morning even on some of the more popular, official trails, and it only got better as the amount of traffic in a particular spot got lower. I'd have more photos of the knee-to-thigh deep snow in the less-traveled woods, but I was having too much fun in those places to stop and pull out the camera.

I think I may try for 31 days in March if these snow conditions (and my body) hold up.

Skied Magic and Bromley Sun, Mon. Haven't been up there in a while. Magic was great, snowed all day at Bromley. Next up Stowe, Jay, and the Bush. Time to spend some time in New England.

I've heard a lot of "This past weekend was the best of the season" talk. I'm just going to add to that. The bowls in the Notch plus many other woods run were blanketed in a consistant carpet of fresh pow this past weekend! 'Twas sweeeeet! Thigh deep in places. It was heavenly. I had a lot of fun dropping some cliffs that I would not otherwise drop. This winter has been swell. It's hard to think we were all depressed a few months ago.

Alot of wind effect. Variable snow. From super sweet to stryofoam from one turn to the next. Still some goods to be found and good turns to link, not a ton of people at the hill.

Still recovering from my trip to MRG over the past 5 days. Certainly the best 5 days of this season by far and very likely 5 of the 20 best days skiing in my entire life.

Powder from start to finish, last run yesterday was untracked powder top to bottom on 20th.

So good it was ridiculous.
