I'm not here to dis on Snow Plow drivers, however...

We got an inch of blower pow last night. I have never heard so many plows up and down the street, in and out of our driveway since the snows of last year. Even the sidewalk plow came by (impossible last year). Then the sand/salt came down.

1". Literally, 1" was plowed from my driveway. I walked out in my slippers just to be sure. I thought we had a minimum rule.

These guys are really hurtin' for some winter cash. It's got to be a long, cold winter for them.

I'm thinking that much of the over zealous reaction to the inch or two has to do with the fact that for many, this was one of the 1st times since the end of October, if not the 1st time that folks actually had some snow to clear this snow season.

We have an understanding with our plow guy. A couple inches, he doesn't come. 3 or 4 and he will call and ask if we want to be plowed. He won't just show up unless we get at least 4 inches, and unless it's April, we want to get plowed in that case.

Do a youtube search for that "tow plow"...it's awesome.

We drove up 91 last night. In Mass, the plows were out. M ost were salting and stggered so you could pass one, switch lanes, and pass th e other.

Just south of Greenfield, we got behind two plows who were traveling so close, you couldn't pass. One guy had the wing plow down...wing plow for 1" of snow? There was a helluva line nbehind us by the time we got to the Greenfield exit. Luckily, they used the turnaround just north of the exit and we could all move along; quicker than the previous 25mph.
