Ski Area: Snow Ridge - located in Turin, NY - Gets tons of Lake Effect snow off of Lake Ontario
Date: Wed. 1/29/14
Temp: 1 - 6 degrees and sunny
Conds: 8 inches fresh powder
Cornhead and I decided to hit Snow Ridge which is about a 2.5 hr. drive for us from the Binghamton NY area. They charge us $15 for lift tickets when we present our seasons passes from Greek Peak. Not one patch of ice to be found anywhere. They are normally closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Although the hill is only between 500 - 600 ft. vertical it is a sustained pitch top to bottom and you do a lot of runs per hour. The sun was out all day and when we left at 4 pm the clouds moved in and the Lake Effects snow from Lake Ontaio started pounding that section of the Tug Hill Plateau.
Have a few pics:
Form inside the base lodge
Real nice, bar and restaurant
