Ski roundtop here in Central PA primarily uses fan guns to make their snow. With an average of 14 inches of snow in a season, efficient snowmaking is very important to them. They have a mix of older highlands, areco, and Techno Alpine fan guns. The areco and Tehcno Alpine guns have onboard air. The Highlands guns use air and water. They don't work as well as the newer guns.

I didn't look it, up and I was incorrect. The average for Harrisburg is 28".

Still not a lot of snow, considering the sunny days South Central PA has.

We did and it was cold so there was soooo much snow from snowmaking. Ski roundtop had it's longest continuos operating season which was 115 days. Yet they closed with more than 3-feet of base covering the entire mountain. On the last day there were definitely areas that had upwards of 6-7 feet of base.

NO one spring ski's in March in South Central PA. Most years they close with full coverage.
