Why would they change the name of poor defunct Brodie to Snowy Owl? All they have there is tubing, and eventually Silver Leaf is going to build a bunch of condos. Brodie was around for a very long time, changing the name to some market research thing is just a shame. There is a history there that should not be ignored.

I hear you, brother....and feel your pain....

My wife changed her name to Misty Diamonds but she's still the same old lady I married...

Of course she says the same about when I changed my name to Rock Steele....

But, seriously....yes, the aura of a name with some history is hard to create from scratch in an ad firm's conference room. Some of the newer areas that seem, imho, to have done well are Kicking Horse, and Mt. Bohemia.

But they've been using that method for years.

Brodie didn't have the draw to pull in the bucks they wanted. They can't change the hill much, so...

Change the name and do a lot of marketing with the new name. Try to gather some buzz and more importantly, some bucks.

You won't fall for it, but would you have bought a condo at Brodie? So you are not their market.

Your right. Certainly not at these prices. $250,000+ who the heck is buying these places and can they ski?

To think not so long ago I could have gotten a 1/4 share condo at Jiminy Peak for $25,000. Timing is everything. :dunce:
