I married well and get my pass for free, so for me the answer is yes!

Were having one of the worst seasons out here ever as well, still fun. Still buy my pass to Snow King to support the local hill, they need it more and more these days, plus its only 150 bucks.

We were talking about Snow King. It's too bad to see them struggle.

Its a weird setup. The owner of the hotel and all those short term rental condos technically runs the ski resort.

Now the town has stepped in and took over the skating rink at the bottom.

Theres talk of renovating the snack shack as part of the ice arena, the resort is trying to sell itself off, etc.

Its turning into a situation where noone really knows anything, even the owners and the town.

That being said I highly doubt the place will shut down. Some rich local guy will buy it for a couple hundred grand and run it revenue neutral.

It has a great location. And if you are in Jackson you are a lucky duck because a few miles south here in Utah we don't have nearly as much snow as you do!

Weve been doing pretty well overall compared to most of the West, but its been pretty dry here by our standards.

Worst part is pretty much all of our snow has come in two massive storms, and one was before the mountain even opened. Those storms were great, and the mountain is more filled in than you would expect for only 200" so far, but its nowhere near what we usually have. In the past five years we would be closer to 400" by now.

I'm very fortunate i get a FREE season pass at a regional speed bump which has weekly reciprocals with 2 other places in NNY and then we travel to several others in the Northeast for monthly extended stays

Thus I have the best of both worlds: Variety and Cheap skiing :D

As long as I'm living where I do (not planning on moving yet) I will keep renewing my pass to Camelback. I get on the snow there 40+ days and love the fact that its 45 min away. While my son is still in HS and on the ski team there, my daughter is in college in Vermont and I get up there plenty too. Add to that family connections in Utah and it makes for a pretty good season. As a matter of fact when it comes to holiday periods I tend to stay at home (CBK) as I can maneuver the crowds there as well as anywhere and save the traveling for much calmer times. The pass has become a household budget item much the same way the slip for the boat is in the summer.

I will probably jump up a level from the New England Silver to the Gold. Don't think I can take advantage of the Gold Plus yet but I should be way past the break even point on a gold.

Definitely buying a pass.. Im 5 minutes from the mountain and go a couple times a week regardless of conditions. Besides if I dont buy a pass it will snow like never before.

I have a condo at Magic and therefore always buy a pass. The total cost for me and my 2 boys this year was under a grand so its very easy to get our money's worth. So far I have 15 days in and they have 12 each. We usually do a coueok of trips to other hills as well.

I will buy again for the local hill-- 10-15 mins away... even though my attendance is way down due to missing a month injured and lack of snow...I have still passed the break even point a while back.

I probably ski more in crappy winters having a pass than I would without... without a pass I would always hem and haw about whether it was worth the day ticket to ski... now I simply go and if it sucks I leave after a few runs, or not- sometimes its just nice to be outside in the winter regardless of the conditions. I view the real plus as giving me the guilt free opportunity to ski often in marginal seasons... or you could look at it from the flip side, having invested in a pass I am motivated to ski... which has the real benefit of getting me outside in the winter. win win.

I will buy the Boyne Silver Pass again as always. Sunday River is the closest major mountain to me at a little over an hour. I use it to hit Sugarloaf a couple times a year too. With the pass it usually works out to about $20 a day, which is an exceptional value.

I have actually had a great season with overall very good snow conditions. This is a testament to Sunday River's outstanding snowmaking and grooming, plus Maine seems to have fared a bit better (relatively speaking of course) with weather than some other areas. That said, in my opinion, a poor season is actually more of a motivation to buy a pass. Hard to justify or be satisfied with marginal conditions when spending $80 on a lift ticket. With a pass you don't need to worry about whether going skiing is worth the money.... you can just go and make the most of it. If it isn't great, then you can just take a few runs, as opposed to stressing out about getting your money's worth out of an expensive ticket.

Today will be day 41 for me so far. Definately will get my 2 passes again for next year. Get 4 mountains, and skiing from Oct to May and local mt just 20 mins away. Good combo for me. Should get 80+ days in this season.
