Good conditions on what was open when I was there on Saturday. (That was...Easy Out/Vista, Comearound, Raceway/Midway, Main St, Falls, and Lazy Mile.)

Looks like they've opened Burma already, I'd expect Paradise and probably Challenge to be open by Friday. 6-pack is open...4 minute or less lift ride.

Here's my report from today...when I left the guns were going on Sidewinder and Razors..it looks like the mountain will be 100 percent open by sometime next week...

Hey All,

I'm back from another fun session at the closest major ski area..yes Blue mountain. On the drive up, I rocked out to some Pat Benatars Love is a Battlefield and Mo Money Mo Problems by Ma$e and Puff Daddy. I pulled into the lower lot at 3:35PM and Atomic Jeff was booting up. I was surprised to see that no attempt was made at salting and clearing the lower parking lot. Blue is going to get sued when somebody busts their ass on the ice. We saw KnuckleDragger in the lot and he was on his way out and he said that things were scrapped off with lots of Sugar which was correct. He joined us for the first part of the session.

The winds were moderate and the temperature at the base was 33 degrees. Definitely not warm enough to soften the snow. Big snowmaking whales were on Challenge, Paradise, and Sidewinder. After a run or two Justin joined us. We also saw BMTroublemaker. There werent too many people out but there were alot of really bad skiers, riders, and snowlerbladers who got in the way. One lady stopped right in front of Atomic Jeff on Tuts lane but he had an uber fast reaction time..probably from drinking some SFRB since it says right on the can that it improves reaction speed. In total I skied 12 Tuts Lane to Lazy Mile to Falls to Homestretch combinations. Lazy Mile was all sugar snow with the sharp turn scraped to boilerplate. Knuckledragger took his first wipeout of the season at that corner. Homestretch was kind of slow due to new manmade snow. One run down Main Street which wasn't very good...and two runs over to Burma Road and back. Burma had some nice grippy snow and I held a nice edge around the sharp corners. I left at 6:20PM and the temperature was down to 28 degrees.

On the way back I stopped at the Top Star express in Laurys station to use the facility. I also bought some chapstick. The chapstick was right next to the condems and the cashier said that some people are offended by the chapsticks locationg. I said,"I'm offended by a bunch of pregnant women"..and she said that was funny..now I'm back home chilling with a beer and about to eat some steak..Holla

Translation: Make sure I have a good edge on my skis?

Of course unless you enjoy skidding like 90 percent of the Pocono shufflers out there..I'm not a fan of the sugar snow..I hope it gets a little warmer so it becomes hero snow..soft but still fast,,,and of course cold enough for nighttime snowmaking..I'm glad that Blue is going to make lots of money XMAS week..
