I know Stowe will have a High Speed Detachable on big Spruce, but haven't read much else in the way of 'big news' concerning new development at eastern ski resorts this summer.

What else have people heard? Any new development that you know of and are excited about?

For me personally, I think I'm most excited about the state of Vermont finally bringing out the groomer and knocking down the moguls on Highway 89 between Burlington and Waterbury

We've been talking about the big changes at Burke for this season.

There also has been discussion about the projects at Sugarbush.

Bolton has some work going as well...new trails and a new lift at some point.

Jay is working on the golf course...don't know about their new West Bowl. Coming soon I guess.

MRG will be preparing for the upgrading project of the single chair.

Killington sent us a press release...snowmaking maintenance.

They want to expand down to the old North Creek Ski Bowl that is currently used for tubing. The trail down to it has many flat (walk or skate) spots. They gave a guided tour last season then bused us back. IMO it's a waste of time. It won't be this season that's for sure.

Given that none of the plans Gore has for this expansion would focus on skiing boring connectors to North Creek, I'm not sure how this is relevant. The current (poor) plans, are to install three lifts (one for the old North Creek Ski Bowl only and two for the interconnect) with distinct trail pods services by the interconnecting lifts. Could actually be one of the most interesting expansions in the East in years if the State approves the money.

The patroller who lead the group down to the North Creek ski bowl told us that the connector he had us on was going to be used to get skiers to the North Creek Ski Bowl if and when the expansion takes place. If he was wrong then what I wrote was wrong.

You seem to know alot about it. http://www.snowjournal.com/page.php?cid=topic7518
Fill us in.

Sugarbush is rebuilding there base lodge this summer. Looks like it should be really nice.

The base lodge was never to be in this year's plan.

The original plan was to have a family center done for this season.

It was to have the day care and all ski schools as well as guest services.

As of the other day, the information I heard was that is on hold and the move is to do the lodging portion and be working on it this winter...

But it is kinda like a weather forecast...

We'll know in the spring, what was done in the winter... no? ;)
