Resort or Ski Area: Moosilauke - South Peak via carriage trail
Conditions: Thin almost none existent base with dust on breakable Crust
Trip Report: The day started at Plain Jane’s in Rumney where we had a hearty breakfast. Then drove to Breezy Point Road in Warren and I gotta tell ya - it was cold with a capital K. When we started is was 15˚. When we finished it was 10˚. In between I think it fell to below zero just short of the top of South Peak.
While the trail is wide for hiking its narrow for a ski trail and my skis were too much for the boots. With the combined difficulty of sloppy boots, unresponsive skis, breakable crust and narrow trail my skiing down was not the most stylish. But it was good to be out on such a nice day with fresh albeit thin snow.
