The crowds were expected. A bluebird Saturday during President's Weekend with great snow conditions...yeah, it was going to be busy. Parking lots were jammed but the vibe remained good as Dave and I found a VIP spot in the snowmakers lot next to the groomed track. Gondola lift line was up past the entrance to the Over Easy, but the singles line was the Express lane and we were squeezed in the red box with 6 others. My apologies to those six people because we smelt like ski bums who haven't washed anything in many, many ski days....and our helmets and gloves deadly if your nose got too close.
Our day was highlighted by some turns up top. I skied Profanity and then glades down to RT 108 on Tuesday, and it was pretty good. But snow quality we found below the ridgeline were far better this time around.
After hiking up the busy climbing gully, a certain adjacent gully provided some isolation and good turns.

Then, we headed down Mansfield's ridge towards our goal.

The views on this sunny day were pretty sweet.

Steep pitches of the Kitchen Wall.

Dave drops in on the first pitch...we weren't sure about the snow consistency but it was awesome. True powder that's just dense enough to provide some support.

Then...Dave living the dream in the Garden.

Which is part of this little video clip (might take some time to download though).

Some of my tracks...snow was most excellent.

The lower part of the bowl is not as steep and opens up more; its really easy and fun to just let 'em run in the powder down here. There's also a lot of small rocks that can be incorporated into the run.

The run ends with some very deep tree shots under the Wall. Yeah, life is good.
