It was Friday, and Friday means another day of wandering around in the Mansfield woods. It started snowing around 11am and then was dumping for an hour or two...with each run getting better than the one before it. I love those types of days. The crew was the usual...Scotty D, Dave, and Jumpin' Jimmy.

The snowy days are the good ones.

The skiing did in fact get better with each inch...every inch counts, right? haha. But in reality it did matter today because the last run Dave and I did off the Bench was the best run of the day. You could finally start to ski a few lines with more confidence than in previous days. I've been skiing the trees since immediately after the freeze, and its amazing how a few inches of snow can take the skiing from possibly the worst surface conditions of the season, to actually fun conditions to ski again.
A few action shots...
Here's Dave enjoying the light dusting.

In the afternoon we ran into Allen, Wes, and Sam...so when we all went to get into the gondi, it quickly became apparent that there's only so many pairs of fat skis one group can have. We need bigger ski holders on those big red cabins in the sky. That was quite the cluster and it must've been pretty good to watch our group try and get in that gondola.
Another funny experience was earlier in the day on the bulletproof upper Gondolier/Chin Clip, I came around a little bend and tried to kill speed...hit this massive patch of blue ice and was on my hip sliding before I knew what happened. I ended up coming to a rest on a mogul about 10 yards down, when I look up and watch the other Scott come around, make the same turn, and go down. So I'm trying to get up only to have the other Scott, on his back sliding headfirst towards me. The whole time, Dave's sitting here laughing hysterically as we try to right our respective situations. That stuff they call ice gets me every time.
Friday's are always fun...
