We could only stay until 1pm today but that's fine...because I just got called off for tomorrow so it looks like Dave and I will head to the mountain. Another week of getting paid without working; looks like we'll be skiin'. Dave's also coming into about a month off so hopefully it continues to snow. The ski bum is alive and well.
Snowed pretty hard this morning all the way to the mountain...we had 1-2"/hr rates for a time but then it tapered to just a steady snowfall. There was about 6" at the base when we left at 1pm. Tonight's snow should certainly warrant some excitement for tomorrow

Hit stuff off the gondola for a little while before heading to the quad. Glades off Cliff Trail were particularly fun and there was a ton of snow up there in the softwoods under the Kitchen Wall. Then we did laps off the quad, sticking to two runs: Bypass Chutes to Nosedive Glades to Goatdive, and Chapel Woods classic hardwoods cruising. Conditions were optimal in both locations though you could occasionally feel the crust/ice under foot (particularly on steep sections), there was enough snow on top that it didn't really matter.
I went out today with two co-workers, who surprisingly enough, had the day off. They are some of the first snowboarders I've skied with on a regular basis, and what do you know...redraobwons aren't that bad Here are a few shots from the mountain...

By 1pm, we were seeing light snow with an incredibly dense, but thin, fog layer near 3,500ft...it was a pretty cool sight. I tried to lighten the picture a little but it got a bit grainy.

The powder's back and the stake has got to be near 70 inches now...and another 4-6" is expected overnight. Things are looking up. Get out there!
