Route 100 into Morrisville, left onto 15, follow into Cambridge, left at Madonna Mobil and they follow 108 up to the mountain, should take about an hour.

Actually your going to take that left onto Rt 108 in Jeffersonville...if you end up in Cambridge you have over shot it by about 5 miles.

From Smuggs to I89 for the drive home it will be quicker to drive into Cambridge, take a left in the middle of town and drive thru Pleasant Valley to Underhill then a left thru Jericho Village to Richmond to I89. It's a beautiful drive with this view of the backside of Mt Mansfield. I shot this about 10 years ago.

Oh yeah, Jeff/Cambridge area. If you go the back way to I89, once you get through Pleasant Valley you will dump back out onto 15, take a left at the International Truck Place, follow through Jericho, just through the village the road will bend left, safest bet is to take the right hand turn at the bend, follow to the end (big field on left), take a left and follow it right into Richmond/on ramps.

Going north to 15 is the best way, I did it back in December. A lil tricky going through Morrisville, just follow the signs. I go to Stowe alot, and tried both Smuggs and Jay in December. If ya like trees/glades, go to Jay.

I have only been there once (a few weeks ago) and offer one recommendation: stay away from the beginner section on skiers' right (by the condos). It is a waste of time. The rest of the mountain is worth exploring.

That would be the entire Morse mountain.. too crowded and the terrain is nothing like Madonna and Sterling.

Here's a Key from a Jericho native:

International Truck Place= Clark's Truck Center (Browns Trace Road)-GO 35, the state police are alyways out on it!!
At the "bend left, safest bet is to take the right hand turn" after Jericho Center is Barber Farm Road
End of that take a left onto River Road, follow to Rt 2, take a left onto in, look for signage for 89.

Going from Stowe to Smuggs?

Look at a map and take Stage Coach Road from Stowe until Johnson, then route 15 to 108. Taking Stage Coach cuts a solid ten minutes off the drive as opposed to going all the way through Morrisville.

To add to Dave's directions...you have to drive painfully slow thru Jericho Village but it's one of those perfect New England village's so enjoy the postcard view.

Very true, there is always cops at the fire department or whatever the big building is at front edge of the village. They even have signs thanking you to drive slow.
