Stratton Mountain

Conditions: sunny weather and soft snow

Headed to Stratton this morning with vdk03, his dad (+girlfriend), his two older brothers and 2 friends! vdk03's dad hadn't had a pair of skis on in about 2 years and he looked like he had never taken em off!! Snow was great and weather was great. No complaints here. The snow was a little slushy on the bottom due to warm weather but those mashed potatoes are fine with me! A little skied off and icy in some spots but other than that today was truly an enjoyable day of spring skiing!! I think we'll be back to Stratton next weekend for Spring Fling. Also heard a rumor that they may be staying open the weekend after that as well. Happy spring skiing!!! 8)

I was up at Stratton today as well!! Hit the hill first thing and skied until around 3pm when we retired up to Grizzly's. The snow didn't soften as much as I had hoped none the less some fine corn snow was found down low in the sun bowl. Even managed to find some fairly fresh powder snow in the upper elevation trees! All in all a great day out on the mountain with a great crew, mid winter like conditions and bluebird skies!

Pretty crazy that it's the first Sunday in April and the mountain is 100% open with a super deep base and packed powder conditions! Plenty of good skiing left to be had this season.....the mountain bike can wait!

Beach vacation next weekend so I'm out but will likely be there on the 17th if they decide to open back up! Ton of snow up there so it will be a shame if they don't.

Beach vacation in between skiing weekends, I think you have the right idea 8)

If they do open back up (you are right it would be a shame if they don't) I will most likely be there as well, keep in touch! have a good vacation!
