We have been riding Mount Snow for the last 3 days. Tomorrow is our last day up here and we had planned on going to Stratton because we have free tickets from the stratton10k.com contest. I'm just wondering if it is worth the drive over there after this meltdown when we're 5 minutes from Mt. Snow. A change of pace would be good but I assume their trail count will be low? I couldn't tell how bad it will be, today they only had 28 trails because of wind so who knows what the snow conditions are. I was also thinking that Mt Snow will recover faster with all their fan guns, but they're blowing on trails we have done to death over the last 3 days so its kind of boring. How is stratton at recovering in one night? We have a free voucher for Mt Snow so it wouldn't cost us anything except the extra gas to get to stratton, but I want to get the best ski day in.

Stratton was pretty rough on Monday, don't know what their recovery time is like but can tell you there was dirt on almost every trail, and the summit trails were really beat up, that was 2 days ago though, not sure if they lost more yesterday and today

So how did it go yesterday?

Went to stratton, definately dirt spots in abundance. I would say that Stratton had fewer dirt spots than Mount Snow. Mount Snow had better conditions in the areas that where not dirt. Stratton was a mix of death cookies, ice, and some softer stuff that was in the sun. Mount Snow didn't really have any death cookies, but more dirt. We saw the groomers at Stratton pushing a lot of snow around to cover spots where as Mount Snow didn't seem to be doing that. We figured they where both going to be equally bad so we should try something new.
