No clue, but if that doesn't work out, I'm sure KingM would take good care of you at the Golden Lion Inn

Never been, but I've heard it's fine.

I've paid $69 for flea bag no-tell motels in my day, and I didn't get breakfast.

Sugar Lodge is nice. We stayed there a few years back. Nothing fancy, it was clean and the people were friendly. Nice common great room and hot tub out back. The breakfast was a pretty standard continental affair. Really close to Lincoln Peak base and not far from Ellen and MRG.

Go for it. Sugar Lodge is great. My wife & I stayed there years ago & really enjoyed it. Good rooms, decent breakfast, beer & wine bar in the Great Room plus free fresh chocolate chip cookies waiting for you after the ski day is over. Definitely check-out the hot tub too. Add in a lift ticket (at either SB or MRG) for the ski & stay price of $69, it's tough to beat.

I also really enjoy the Golden Lion Riverside but the Sugar Lodge is very good. You won't be disappointed.

That's a great deal. FWIW I think that SB day tix are now up to $57 per day. So $12 for a room is a steal.

Had a bad experience there one weekend, no housekeeping service for one. But it was during July, so maybe I should have expected it somewhat. I'm sure it's fine. And at that price, probably even better.

We did Ski the Valley tix when we stayed there. The fireplaced common room was nice at the end of the day.

I agree that the Sugarlodge is nice, easy use of the shuttle if you don't want to drive the 3/4 and deal with the crazies in the parking lot. Had at least 4 owners that I know of in the last 12 years but in this case, not a bad thing. Cute little bar and it nice to hear their afternoon chocolate chip cookies for when you return from the mountain tradition is still honored.

I know and like the owners there, so I'm biased in their favor. Good people. I love their common room and wish I could offer that. Of course, we have a full breakfast. ;)

Ask for an upstairs room at SL if you can.

We opted for cheapness and assumed we'll avoid steps and elevators by taking the ground floor. What's "special" about upstairs?
