We skied Sugarbush on Friday instead of Cannon. I'm going to post a TR with pics, but it won't be until around noon. I have domestic duties this AM. Back-channel me for details. Bottom line - very good day, but even with only 50% trail grooming, pretty much everything was tracked out early. Even the map-designated woods were tracked out, but still a lot of fun. It was a pretty busy Friday. Scrappy FGR was starting to show its face here and there on blues an blacks. You'd never know they had a foot the day before, it felt more like 4-5". So I'd call it a 4-5" powder day on trails, and about a 14" powder day in the woods. I understand the prior rain, so I'm not complaining.

p.s., Cannon's TR suggested they had groomed nearly every trail, so we option to divert up 89 on that news...

I was up at the Bush on Friday, too. I was crossing the flat stretch to the Heaven's Gate Triple when I came across a guy pushing a single pole between his legs. He'd dropped his other one off the lift and wanted to know the best way to get down there to retrieve it. Wasn't too happy to hear that he had completely bypassed his target.

"All these *#%! ungroomed trails are killing me!" he complained as he skied across a trail that had been groomed to within an inch of its life. Groomed, I guess, meant that there was still visible corduroy.

I saw tons of new skiers yesterday, including some flailing their way down trails that were way above their ability level, so it's probably a good thing that they did so much grooming. There was plenty of ungroomed stuff on the usual suspects.

Cannon does groom the majority of it's trails but you should know that it's best ungroomed skiing is NOT on the trail report.I skied Mittersill a couple of runs Saturday and found some good stuff. The coverage I would rate as good.I also made two trips down the backside of Cannon on the Tuckerbrook trail.Plenty of snow in there.I had a couple friends ski Coppermine trail and had similar reports.
