Date(s) Skied: February 19th, 2009
Resort or Ski Area: Sugarbush, Lincoln Peak
Conditions: Powder, packed powder. “Stiff’ snow later in the day at lower elevation as areas firmed up with the dropping temps. 8-9” new up top, 5” mid mountain, 3” at the base. Cloudy/snow showers temps in the upper 20’s / lower 30’s.
Trip Report – total treat to see all the new snow after skiing since last Saturday on hard pack, machine groomed cruisers and frozen bumps. Great day today with early runs on Twist, Moonshine, the Mall and Spring Fling. Snow conditions ranged from dry and light to heavier powder. Great for the base and helluva lot of fun to ski in. Ton of soft new snow up on Heaven’s Gate chair. Paradise was deep once you got below the first turn. Organgrinder had good coverage but firm underneath. Castlerock to Cotillion was just outstanding. Ended the day with a few laps of a favorite off the map woods that had boot deep plus powder and we were still getting fresh lines at 2:30. More snow is on the way which is setting the stage for an awesome Friday through Sunday stretch of skiing.
