Weather: Saturday: Partly Cloudy, cold. Highs in the single digits maybe (?)

Report: There's not a better way to spend a special weekend then to have not one, but TWO powder days in a row. Here is the first day report.
J and I decided to hit Mount Ellen. Last season I only skied at 'Ellen a mere 3 days, which is way below par. In 2002-2003 I probably did at least 20 or so. I like the vibe, the views, the snow, and the terrain variety. Did I mention no lines and fast lifts?
The lots were full, but liftlines non-existant and the lodge had plenty of room.
We headed to the top and did spins down Rim Run/Panorama to Elbow. Hitting Northstar was a mistake...snow guns and waterbars, but it will be up and going soon. Back up North Ridge and down Rim Run. I did my first FIS run and found it not as scary as I recall....some good snow, but there was some nasty ice...including the one spot where I slid maybe 75 feet. Oh well. J didn't see it because she opted for a nice easy spin down Rim Run. Looking Good was nice.
We did another Rim Run spin to Exterminator, which I found to be enjoyable overall. J did fine on her first bump run of the season, but admitted that groomers were her thing for today. No worries. We hit Upper Looking Good to Rim Run and then down Which Way to the bottom for lunch.
After lunch we did a couple spins off the top before calling it quits. Nice snow. Chowder and powder day. I'll let the pics do the talking:
LOVE being back at Mount Ellen. It was like being back with an old friend!
