Conditions: Well groomed packed powder (man made), hard packed with some ice, wind packed nautural from some minimal natural snow/dusting. Natural trails, when opened were hard packed but quite skiable.
Overall, very good, edgable, fast surfaces. Great for carving and cruising.

I was really impressed how well the grooming crews got the mountain ready every day. Most trails were in good, really edgable conditions, even at the end of the day. There even were some skiable moguls (upper parts of Bubblecuffer and under the King Pine lift), although, not really all that much fun - rathere hard and with messy lines, but no ice!

When the Timberline Chair was open (there were wind issues on few days), it was possible to ski the upper extentions of Gondola line and White Nitro from the very top (awesome views). My two boys were deligthed to be able to ski the mountain from the very top - it's actually fairly easy. The pitch of those upper extentions isn't really all that different than the parts of these trails when dropped into from cross cut that's connecting the top of Spillway and King Pine.

We divided our time between the XC trails and the downhill, but the downhill was so good that we spend majority of time on our alpine gear.

The various jumps in the snow parks were also quite fun, although we did not do the really big air kickers.

I'm hoping that snows hit the loaf with the well needed dose of natural soon, although what's currently there is worth the drive and stay money.

Great to hear that the haul was worth it! Kinda looks like the weather systems are shifting a little...not fast or drastic enough for us:lol:, but more of the white stuff goes a long way on that north-facing mountain....most always through entire month of March...even when temps are in low-mid 50s in Kingfield.

Nice report. I was up there last Wednesday. Wind was plaguing stuff throughout the morning but by 11, they had 100% lift operations. It's great your kids got the ability to hit it from the very top and you're right, the upper parts of the trails don't really add any degree of difficulty to them but make for some awesome views.

Thanks for posting!! Glad you had a good time.
