Resort or Ski Area: Sugarloaf

Conditions: Ahhhh...Variable. Trip started with 1+ inch of wet mank snow, however conditions were all over the board, mostly firm conditions, some packed powder, loose granular....NOT Spring like.

Trip Report: The wet inch of snow we received on Friday adhered well to the already amazing base depths. It made for some fun skiing on Friday and gave us a little bit of fresh chow to push around. I only did one trip over the back side (on Friday), and I would say it was fair...Good coverage, but still a little firm up there. Over the course of the trip I managed to get into most of all the upper glades in between all the trails from Winter's Way to Powder Keg, along with a few runs in Bracket, pipe cleaner, Rookie River, and Toke Road. Most of the glades were firm & fast, and coverage is still decent....The glades were edge-able, however not overly exciting, because the snow never really softened up. The best snow conditions were found primarily on the groomer edges (gondi & Nitro). The loaf is nearly 100% open (except for a couple lines off the summit), so for two days straight we lapped the summit doing runs through all the extensions...It's not often you can do WWay, Bubblecuffer, Gondi, Nitro, Powder Keg from the top on any given day. The temperatures never got above 25 degrees on the summit, so there's not much melting or thaw/freeze cycles happening on the upper 1/3 of the mountain. Most of the mountain is covered with a decent amount of snow, so once the spring temperatures arrive it will be Disneyland up there with your pick for Trail du jour.

TOD: Wedge Extension (White Nitro)....Some of the best conditions I've seen on the trail where it's good all day & not just the first few runs in the morning, but rather all day long.

Sorry not many pics:
