a couple of snowmaking routes (nitro, powderkeg) off the front side. The back side (the real snowfields) won't be opening anytime soon.
sugarloaf does look good right now.

I have a trip planned for the third week of February. I have been checking their web site and it looks like a lot of trails are still closed. I not too worried but it just doesn't seem like it is going to really snow this winter. I have still have three plus weeks so I'll keep my finger crossed. Thanks for the update.

I'll be there too - school's winter break. Condo rented and hoping for a couple of big storms so the mountain can really open up.
If it remains dry.... well, much less is needed for XC. Worse case scenario, I'll hike up to the infamous snowless fields.

The top really needs a lot of snow and some calm weather. Winds tend to scour the top so, the back side is rarely open. In the past 10 years I managed to catch it only twice. Good experience.

I was at the loaf last weekend. I found a couple good runs through the trees, dont know the names but there were spots that were relatively deep and untouched days after the storm. I also had some great runs to myself off the upper moutain t-bar wwhen the rest of upper moutain lifts were on wind hold.

i love that upper t. Only open on windy days, usually when it snows. a little x-tra hike can get almost anything on the mountain.
