WOW! I fugured they'd be closing early this year, but guess it came up sooner than expected. I'm not surprised though, given the conditions this year.

Even changing the default forum color back to blue is probably not going to help them... ;)

I'm waiting for the K update. Still events posted till May 13th. I wonder alot about that.

Bretton Woods has Bodefest planned last weekend in April. I think Bretton woods will win the lastest open this year.

After what I saw up at the River this past Sunday, I'm not surprised at all with the 16th as the closing date.

So, if the 17th is May Day, does that mean its free? I forget what the deal is.

Monday April 17th, Patriots Day, will be free skiing at Sunday River. I can understand the logic of not trying to stay open till May this year, but they could have done the free ski day on a Saturday or Sunday for the nonseason passholders. The only people that have Patriots Day off are Mass residents, and most won't daytrip for that. Getting more people up there on a weekend might have enticed them to but a pass for next year.

I thankfully will be able to make it. I work in the hotel biz, so I work most weekends and get my riding in during the week. So, I look forward to catching another day before I hang em' up for the summer

I can understand the logic with holding off until the 17th for the free day. With the early closure, they're probably anticipating a 'decent' crowd that weekend, especially considering that it is Easter weekend and they are bound to draw at least some vacationing families.. They'll still lose money as they have been for probably a month, but there will be revenue none the less. And I don't see the correlation between season pass purchases and having a free day on that weekend. If the All for One deal going on until May 2nd isn't enticing enough, I honestly don't know what is.

Even at that, a lot of Mass residents don't have Patriot Day off. I know I don't :(.

I took the day off to ski with my family. I am very unhappy about this. . If they did it on the 22nd it would have gone a long way to help. I skied Monday before the storm and there was enough snow for a while. The snow excuse does not hold water with me. Its Money. I paid to ski early and late.

Yeah. The Patriots had an off year this year.

I think you pretty much need to be a state worker or have a job somewhere that's shut down by the Boston Marathon to get it off. When I was a Mass*ole, I can only remember getting it a couple of times.

All I have to add to this is a HAHA. My little family owned mountain Wildcat is most likely going to be staying open longer(unless there is a huge washout) Even saddleback is closing the same day, now that is pathetic.
