posts like this remind me of some guy that no longer posts at Sunday River

Gimme a break man. I'm a green trail skier right now. I will get better and start working on some of the easier blue runs soon, but it's gonna take time. Let me improve at my own pace, will ya?

When are you gonna make it over to the Big K this season? You can bring the kids if you like. Plenty of room. Stay in touch.

Personally, the only time I like skiing Sunday River is when their glades are good or when it's spring mush. I don't like skiing on cut-trail manmade snow terrain. When it's ungroomed, it's rock hard. When it's groomed, it puts me to sleep. When the trees are filled in, go there. It's nice wide open glades rather than the bushwhacking I'm used to at Killington. Celestial & Flying Monkey midweek after a dump are probably my two favorites. When it's spring mush bumps, Shock Wave is my favorite. I think that's the best cut-trail on the hill.

Shockwave was unreal on Sat, They groomed out the ice whales that had been there for ever and then made snow on it. The left side just filled up more and more after each run. Best non- power day runs of the year.

Shockwave was nice last Saturday for sure. Still, my favorite left side of the day was Bim's Whim in the morning, which had ankle deep untracked fluff. How'd that get there??

Shockwave, Tin Woodsman hands down best two trails on the mountain. The thing I enjoy most about these two trails is their character.

For a single black, I think I recall enjoying Vortex for some reason. Not sure why.

Since the thread is morphing away from the OP question, for doubles I REALLY like a lot of SR's liftlines. Caramba and Ruby Palace have some nice features. Agony is a great spring bump run. Shockwave is definitely one of the best cut trails there.

I sort of get it in that it's pitch is respectably steep and very consistent and it's often ungroomed. The trail ratings at SR aren't entirely consistent, though.
