Saturday 11/19/05: Well today was intertesting. There were supposedly 8 trails open, but only 1.5 runs on Barker (four trails: Jungle Rd, Ecstacy, Cascades and Upper Sunday Punch) and parts of 4 trails at South Ridge. Maybe I got spoiled with the October snow but today I didn't think it was very good. The snow at 8:15 on the upper half of the Barker mountain was great. It had been groomed and fresh man made pow on top of it. Then I got to Cascades. The upper portion of Cascades was good, some nice hero bumps. The lower section however was all ice. Anyways I skied about 9 runs. Trails were pretty much scraped off at 11:30 when I stopped. Later in the day they opened Monday Morning. Oh yeah South Ridge was a joke. It should have never been opened.

Sunday 11/20/05: Better, but not great. Today the upper trails were still good, but lots of gates set-up for racers (so I ran a few to practice for the monday night race league. Racing on tele gear should be fun.) Cascades got groomed, which didn't really help it much, still very icy. The upper part of monday morning was like riding frozen waves. . . very icy frozen waves. Lower monday morning was fun with some hero bumps. They opened Locke triple and T2 was actually the best trail of the day. Nice soft snow and lots of bumps.

Well sorry to be so negative. I think I was just disappointed after such a great start to the season in October. On a positive note, no huge crowds this weekend. Also the conditions can only get better from here.

I'm little less negitive, but kind of feel the same way.
Friday was wild guns in the middle of the trail. Could not avoid getting nailed by the guns.( Kind of goes with the terrritory)
Sat got to ski with Ga2ski Oz, Thaller1 and the rest of the regs on the Sr board. We had a great time. Nice cook out. OZ murdered his portion of the cook out. lol. Thaller1 can bake a pie I'll tell you. Anyway Sat it got beat up quick, but up top was okay. Just fun to be out. Next week should shape up to be better.

Yup on my ASC pass. Don't get me wrong. I had a lot of fun, i just wish mother nature had cooperated a little more so Sunday River could have made a better product. They did the best they could with what weather she gave us. They were difinitely blowing alot of snow.

It was nice to see the regulars and meet some new folks as well.

Oh yeah I'm using these posts as part of a daily ski journal that I'm writing so you can expect an honest report from me every time. No sugar coating to protect the interest of the resorts here.
