Well BobR your 2 condo ownership plan might come in handy.

I heard that Boyne is bringing in Les Otten to be in charge of resort acquisitions.

So far Boyne seems like a quality operation...at the very least, Stephen Kircher is a stand up guy “By bringing almost 60 years of experience in resort and ski area management and building upon the best of American Skiing Company’s and Booth Creek’s accomplishments" He doesn't have to give props to ASC or Booth, but does in a very public forum. I think our mtns are going to be in good hands.

Boyne and Powdr have taken approaches that are a complete 180 from each other. It should be interesting to see who comes out ahead in the next few years. Interesting times in the Northeast ski industry for sure!

In my mind, northern New England

The way I see it, one group looks like it's in for the long haul while the other is in to get the financials in order and get a quick flip on the investment. Who knows? Maybe in the long run all these mountains end up being owned by one ownership group.

Still no bargain though unless you ski midweek. Skiing is pretty dang expensive if you're not in college. I don't ever want to graduate.

True True..I miss having a $349 college pass at Stowe and all my classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and evenings...MWFSS..were at Stowe..I'm surprised I graduated in 4 years from Groovy UV..but now I'm making the big bucks selling tombstones and skiing everynight when I'm not on ski trips up north and out west at Blue mountain..:daffy:

no threedom passes are still good for the 07-08 season and Threedom pass holders will be able to upgrade their pass to include SR and SL. Great deal for everyone involved IMO.

I posted this on the SR board, but I feel Loon is often times underrated. Sure, it can get crowded on weekends, but if you know the skier traffic patterns and avoid the gondola on all but the first ride, the place is manageable. The East basin trails like Triple Trouble are excellent:

A few decent tree runs like Mike's Way:

And some of the best seeded bumps I've ever skied:

For someone like Bob R that lives in So NH and has a place at Sunday River, the new pass is perfect.

Face it you can buy the threedom or buy the new 3 mtns for cheaper than K by a couple of 100 dollars.

I bet all the folks at Loon that told me I would miss Loon will be visiting me at the river come this season.

This is the perfect combo for me.I paid for two passes the last 3 years for what I have in one. No to mention the spring into March for the two years before that. freeking awesome.

I'm beginning to think you are really the man behind the curtain...the orchestrator of all of this!
