I wasnt going to type this up but i got nothing better to do so what the hell.

Left meriden around 11:00 and got to sundown at 12:30. nice easy ride. yeah right. anyway, i was getting nervous that it was going to be dust on cement after seeing them first hand on monday. snow was letting up big time too so i wasnt overly optimistic but there was a solid 4" when i got there. Upper bumps are pretty shot but temptor was sweet. bumps had that soft serve ice cream look to them. troughs were good and the snow had picked up again. took a couple of runs to find the money line but once i figured that out, it was go time. You could really really let it go today.

Had a bit of a breakthrough today which i havent really felt in a long time. maybe it was the snow, ok it was the snow, but i was really able to keep a very direct line, not getting sucked into the nasty troughs, but still driving my tips and hips down and forward respectively. have never had that feeling in my life. at times it almost felt as though i was gonna go over the handlebars, but that was never actually the case. It was like slamming bumps but not. weird but cool.

anyway, thats my report. good day, best of the year so far at sundown. just wish others had been there too. not used to skiing alone anymore. my guess at a final tally would be about 5 - 6".

Sounds pretty sweet, I wish I was able to make it up there. I know what you mean about skiing alone, I just haven't been feeling it myself.

have you ever made a decision that is so blatantly and ridiculously wrong that you just want to kick yourself in the nuts?

thats how i feel about not buying a pass to sundown. Its 2 days into january and i've already bought EIGHT tickets. $295 already spent. more then halfway there.

ima moron. thats my name.

Bummer Pat. I'm glad I went with the decision to buy a pass, so far I'm well on track for it to more than cover itself. Plus it makes it easier to justify heading up there for a quick hitter, or bailing if things aren't quite as rad as expected.. ;)

2kness- did that last year- spent a lot of days with the kids at sundown, a lot more than expected, would have saved a bundle had I bought a pass- but who knew the kids would love it (they had never skied) and that I would get back into it.

Bought a pass for all this year.

Wed. night (4-8:15) was already getting a little dicey on Temptor-- windblown and skied off.
