I put down maybe, but it's probably only a 20% chance I could make it out there.

Some do, some don't. At Gore they do 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60+ if necessary. At WF they have a kids division and a masters division and thats it. You can ask them for a seperate division (we have a Mt. Host Division for bragging rights).

Gores is more structured WF's is much less formal. Truth be told Gore's is better. Probably the only time I'll get down to Gore this season is for their mogul comp.

While I hope this isn't the case, I doubt there'll be enough entrants in the Sundown comp to warrant different divisions....

Do they let the steep slope at Sundown bump up? Everything has been groomed the few times I've been there.

No. Gunbarrel is now their designated race trail. The current bump runs are Nor'easter and Exhibition (skier's right) and both are pretty flat. The word is the bump comp would be held on Temptor though which actually has a decent pitch in one spot.

Noreaster is also too hidden from any one vantage point to hold a competition. Temptor would provide a full frontal view of the entire run. seems like the only logical choice outside of gunny, which would be freakin awesome.

Welcome Beast_Ed. There isn't a date for the comp yet, we're trying to gauge how much interest there's going to be so that we can get Sundown to set a date.

Dang... I'll be stuck skiing Mary Jane in March

Seriously, though... I wish I could be there for it, but I really can't afford to fly across the country that many times in one year. Probably won't be back in the NE again until May.

Good luck to all who go. Greg, you should post something at mogulskiing.net. I'm sure a few easterners would be down for a comp.

Oh what the hell. I'm in as a definite. I don't ski bumps in the zipperline mode so I probably won't do very well in the competition but it'll be fun nevertheless.

They're having an events meeting tomorrow and Chris indicated this is on the agenda. More to follow...
