I just read that there is a Nh college pass that only costs 249 bucks. You get full access to Cannon, waterville valley, Bretton Woods and cranmore Mountain with no black outs. Do they normally have a deal like this? Are there any hidden strings? IT seems almost too good to be true....

I paid $329 for Stowe and Sugarbush about 10 years ago.

Same..a shame they ended the Big Pass my second year of college. But then my Stowe pass was $349 or so..it's so smart having great college/student pass deals because people who only plan on skiing a handful of days will probably buy the pass due to the short breakeven days/pass price ratio and one day those college students will have families of their own and be bringing major loot to the resorts for lifts, lessons, rentals, food, and lodging..good marketing by the resorts...mad steezy yo..

The college breakout pass the last 2 seasons back east was the College Breakout pass. It cost 229, and included unlimited skiing and riding at Cannon, Sunapee, and Gunstock. There was also the threedom pass which was Waterville, Loon, and Cranmore, but I dont think that pass exists in that form anymore.

$650 for a season pass at Kmart after college is a lot more affordable than a $250 pass for all those places would have been in college, at least for me. Need to keep the kids skiing so they come back with the real money afterwards.

If you want to assume my student loan debt so you can ski on the cheap for a few years, be my guest.

Moral of the story kids? Stay in School.....as long as you can

I think they limit it to age 25. I still keep my college id in my wallet. LAst tme I tried at a ticket window they wanted my license also. I do use my college id at EMS, last time the guy joked around with me since I had a suit on and was coming from work. He was also laughing that someone who went to Johnson State was wearing a suit, ''people grow up dude''

How about special deals for the parents of college students?!?! For many of us, there's very little discretionary funds left over after writing Junior's tuition check.

A lot of the college kids have pretty much the whole month of January off. It might not be a bad idea for ski areas to offer some type of dirt cheap January pass for students. Maybe something like $99 for weekdays only.

It is smart business for the areas to get the college kids skiing and boarding as much as possible. To a large degree, those are the ones that will be making up their target demographic; the ones that might be buying the condos, time shares, and vacation packages a few years down the road.

I still pine for the days of my mid-90's Big Pass for Stowe/Sugarbush, $330.

Nowadays, St. Mike's kids get a season pass to Smuggs for the grand total of $25.
