Weird adjusting to working weekends and being off midweek. Friday in the cafeteria, some guy wished the cashier a nice weekend. That's when it hit me, my first day of work is other people's last day, the day they look forward to, I dread. Monday sux for others, its my first day off and I'm getting ready to go hiking. :) It'll take some adjusting, but hope it lasts a while. :)

The best cure for the Mondays is going skiing..I'm happy to be back at work today...I have a ton of work to get caught up on including a 1,000 piece postcard mailing. In the past 3 years I've worked on the weekends exactly twice for Saturday appointments..I do have evening appointments occasionally but not during the ski season.

What do you do that you work on the weekends but get weekdays off?

Once the snow has landed in the mountains, believe me andyzee...you offer your thanks to Ullr daily!;-) Weekend skiing isn't skiing, it's #128 driving on skis(sadly) in most places....enjoy the timeslot.

Andy i know the feeling i used to be off midweek, and didnt like it at first, but with the 2 things i like to do, ski and golf it works out real well, no crowds skiing, no making tee times, and u can get alot more done quicker with errands ive noticed.. Youll love it when you ski right up the the chair everytime.

If I was single, I think I would love having to work weekends and having mid-week days to pursue recreation and skiing in peace and quiet (especially those mid-week powder days!). But having living with a significant other, you really come to appreciate being on the same schedule after having one of you working all weekend. Also helps with seeing friends and family. Unfortunately, the world is built around a M-F schedule as much as I wish it was otherwise.

As a single person..I wouldn't like working weekends because that's when all the parties are...and when the hotties are out in full force..no hot trick hoes out and about on Tuesday nights..just drunks..

Mid-week is when the hip people party. You can have your weekend dollar draft specials and "hot trick hoes" Thursday night always was the big party night back when I was in the scene and Wednesdays and Tuesdays were top notch for quality nights for drinks. Gotta suck it up the next morning and get to work on time and energetic though, partying mid-week is no excuse for slacking off at work :)

Haha..maybe in NYC and Boston the hip people party during the week...Of course Thursday night is a big party night..but Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday it's like an 80/20 male/female ratio at the bars. The young ladies seem to be out the most after 11:00PM on Friday and Saturday nights..thankfully once ski season starts..I'm too tired to be out late at the bars...which is a good thing because I save a shit-ton of money..,

I always looked at the 80/20 factor like this: I would rather be out mid-week with an 80/20 guy/girl sausage fest when the women are interesting and not just their to get drunk and have a sluts night out (pardon my french). I loved partying on the weekends, but I got a good laugh at the weekend party crowds. That may sound a bit snobbish and exclusive, but hey... that is just the way it is. Takes a special person to throw down until 2am and get up the next day for work in the morning. Anyone can lush out on the weekend. So I always enjoyed the crowds mid-week even with an 80/20 ratio.

FYI, I love my schedule, just hope it lasts into ski season. All I was saying is that it's a bit weird and I need to get used to the difference, when I work others are off and when I'm off others are working.

08:00 this AM was my Friday night, this week. I worked Sat-Monday. I love the midweek days . The downside, as Riv mentioned, with My Wife back to work, I don;t see her much on the weeks my shifts are on weekends. At least it's not all the time.

I love my schedule. And my job.

During ski season I need my sleep during the weekend but tonight..I'll be playing poker and then singing some Karaoke..One of the downsides of hooking up with a chick midweek is having to leave her place/kick her out of your place at 6:00AM to get ready for work...but that's about the only bad thing about getting with some Karaoke groupie after a mad steezy Snoop Dogg performance of Gin and Juice...
