I'll never understand it. Still see it. Saw a family of 4 at sundown yesterday, mom, dad, 2 kids, all in denim. I could care less about the asthetics of it, but jeans simply do not do well when they get wet, nor do they have much in the flexibility category. In this age of dirt cheap wind pants, :)lol:) what would push people to think denim is a good choice to ski in?????

Maybe they saw the HWS video and thought that's what you need to wear to make nice turns?

I remember skiing in jeans and cords a couple times in Jr High. I don't think you notice things like cold and wet when you are 13.

I did it once last year, I forgot to throw my ski pants in my ski bag and went up to Sunday River for a day trip. If I recall correctly I even ran into another AZer.

Anyone remeber dungaree pete at Cannon mt from many moons ago. Crazy old man that wore EVERYTHING denim even on the coldest days. If you skied midweek he was in the lot every day clipping tickets and was hard to miss.

Saw a group of 4 asians at Wawa last week decked out in denim. All 4 instantly fell getting off the Minute Man lift. Made it fun for me as I was the chair behind and they didn't stop the lift! Can't imagine how cold they must have been.

Denim is great at wicking up moisture...then freezeing.

I'm disappointed I haven't seen any Starter jackets yet this year.

And let's not forget the nice blue streaks they leave in the snow once the denim gets wet and they fall!

I wish I had the camera with me Saturday. I saw one that made me think of you immediately! A Steelers starter jacket attached to a pair of what had to be atleast 205's with some rear entry boots - looked like he actually had ski pants on instead of jeans though  heading down Cooper's junction just below the top of Tumbleweed.

Also had a "rare" siting of twin frozen denim's attempting to stay out of the safety netting on the big magic carpet next to the Discovery Triple as I was picking the kids up from Snowcamp Sunday
