Well done! A much better approach than signing some petition devised by an organization like MoveOn.org...

I don't see the need to write to my Congressman. He's an elected official, who always has my best interests at heart. He would never do anything that serves his own purposes or that benefits large campaign donors over his constituents. He's honorable, just, and looks snazzy in a suit. I have faith that he would never do anything I disagreed with.

I am also a card carrying member of the Average American Society, think Fox News really is fair and balanced, agree with all provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act, and am quite happy the US captured Saddam Hussein, since he masterminded the 9/11 attacks. Now, please excuse my while I use my 6 mpg SUV to round up my 47 kids, who are at our family priest's house, apparently making movies.

(There. That ought to offend just about everyone.)

Good news: $100MM was restored to CPB's budget.
Bad news: $105MM remains cut.
Middling news: The $150MM is up for vote in the Senate, which tends to support CPB.
Newes I'm not sure what to think of yet: Former Republican Party co-chair Patricia Harrison has been named new President and and CEO of CPB.

Overall, not a terrible turn for CPB, but not a very good one, either.

1) We only have one congresman... but he's a good one. Hope his replacement will be almost as good.

B) the job of the CPB is to shield PBS from the political establishment. Tomlison should be fired for trying to insert political considerations into it. He's doing exactly the opposite of his mission statement.

With this administration, that means he's probably up for a promotion.

Yep, Bernie is a fighter. Surprised to hear he was moving up to the Senate...figured he would stay given his seniority.
