Okay. So tomorrow is supposed to be 53-65*F based on elevation with full sun. Somebody please devise an attack plan for me. Obviously, I'd like to hit corned up bumps as soon as possible so let's focus on the areas that receive sun first.

I haven't been to Killington in years, but I do know that it's best to stick to just a few areas instead of trying to travel around the whole place. So if my goal is to hit as many of the above trails that are open as possible, as well as the good bump runs, how should I approach the day? Please be specific with lifts to ride and times. Would like to try Powerline at least once. From what I hear, Needles Liftline and Vertigo are good places to start. I hope to be clicked in before 9 am and I need to be rolling at 2:30 pm. It will be a powerbar lunch day.

with those temps and no big freeze overnight, things should soften quickly. since bear isn't open, your plan of hitting needles first is probably the right move. from there you can hit the needles liftline and vertigo. skiers right on needles eye trail can also develop some bumps. to hit thimble and the old upper needles liftline will require you to ride the supe lift since it sounds like the skeship stage 2 won't be running. if it is, you'll be golden. after that, it may be worth the schlep over to the snowden quad where you can hit runs like vagabond, north star, royal flush, conclusion and highline. highline may be well bumped since they had a bump competition on it last weekend. mouse trap might even be bumped. from there probably hit the k1 where you can access the escapade/flume combo or downdraft. you'd have to take the k1 down heavenly traverse to hit west glade (ridge run) or powerline and finish the lap with either royal flush, highline or east fall. k1 also gets you catwalk. finally you may want to run laps off superstar. mid-ovation has great bumps and you can finish the circuit on lower supe skiers left which is favorite steep bumpline of mine. upper sky hawk also has some steep bumps. late day most of supe may be bumped anyway. the south ridge runs of jug & breakaway will unaccessable without a bear lift or a car parked at bear. have fun.

OL, Wildfire first. Becareful as the new snow has not had time to corn up, it may still be sticky.

that would be the normal call, but since the bear lifts aren't scheduled to turn not recommended.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Thanks for the game plan!

its gonna be awesome. i just hope they have the bugs worked out of the supestar quad. it was running at half speed alot on sunday and i see on the trail report it has a delayed opening for some reason.

with your/our limited time, i wouldnt get too hung up on the snowdon trails. Not because they arent fun, northstar, great bear and vagabond are good bump runs, but the lift is incredibly slow and very prone to stoppage. dont know the exact ride time but it has to be close to 15 minutes on average for about 1000 feet of vert.

So Superstar to Needles if SS is running or just hop on the K1? I'll just fart around on Skye or the K Peak basin until I find you and then I'll just tail you around. I'll be loaded up with a Camel Back and powerbars so I plan to slam out 5+ hours of skiing, non-stop. This will be it for me and I think I'm going to finish off with a stellar bluebird day at Killington with a ton of terrain open. This spring has been unreal.

sounds cool. If you're there at 8:00, as skiadikt said, needles area is a great place to start. faces east so it gets earlier sun. believe me, if vertigo is like it usually is, you could probably lap those bumps off the needles quad all day and leave happy.

point well taken. for bumps, north star is best of those three and is a must. great bear & vagabond while good, may be lacking in bang for the buck. the other runs accessable from the snowden quad like royal flush, highline & conclusion as i said can be bundled with k1 laps across heavenly down either west glade and powerline with an optional connection through racers edge.

and yeah supe lift up will get you right to needles.

thats where i always get screwed up. i forget you can pick up racers edge to the left of east fall. i always end up schlepping up that little hill after the glades triple which in corn snow, can suck big time. thanks for pointing that out.

Sounds like good advice and a good trip in store.. I might head up this weekend we will have to see. Weather's looking for 55 degrees and mostly sunny... That's when spring at the big K is best!

Four pages about the 'good stuff'' at killington and the words trees isnt even mentioned?

Theres around a dozen or more spots worth hitting but do yourself a favor and check out the toilet bowl, low rider to lower snowdon trees and/or somewhere/nowhere to bits and pieces.

Don't forget to hit Anarchy and Julio. The woods are in great shape and the bumps in there do not have the snowboard lines either!
